Oh My God I Can Draw HANDS!

:) it always bugs me that I can't draw the greatest of hand at times. But I am particularly proud of these ones. I'm really happy with the overall picture. It's my interpretation of Deloris Van Cartier from Sister Act.

Here's a closer look.

Things on my mind...

"Get ready to fly, bitch!"
- Stuntman Mike.

Over the past few weeks I've been working on my drawing skills by taking life drawing classes. Even though they have finished for summer I feel that it was a big help. I feel like my figure poses are more proportionate and I'm on my way to drawing better hands and feet. Over the past week I have been using one of my images I drew on my last lesson. It was a short 30 second pose, but I felt that the lines really worked well and gave it a nice simplistic look.

I decided to use it to help develop my photoshopping skills. But first I traced it by using Illustrator. I did this because I believe that you can really get control over your lines and really make them flow unlike any other software.

I the carried the line over into good old Photoshop were I got to work on painting the background. I wanted to have a dark look to the image where the colors were hot and popped off the dark background. By doing this the colours then began to take on a kind of neon-like glow. Which i believe works really well. Also used a few free Photoshop brushes to give it a professional look which you can't always get with the simple paint brush tool. All in all I feel like this image is one of my best pieces of Photoshop work to date and My knowledge for Photoshop can only grow.
